Shadow economy is a term that defines sales of goods or provision of services that are not officially declared due to taxes or other regulations.  Although the existence of shadow economy is evident, it is difficult to grope and measure its volume.  However, we face the need to evaluate it when contemplate on the planned or adopted political decisions that influence shadow economy.  LFMI’s Policy Analyst Vytautas Žukauskas shared his point of view on the methodology for calculating shadow economy in the newspaper on taxes Mokesčių žinios.
